Proud sponsor of Community language earning for New Yorkers
Koenigsberg & Associates Law Offices is proud to announce a new partnership with Teachers College, Columbia University to support adult learners in the Community Language Program (CLP).

For Paul Koenigsberg, a 1982 graduate of Columbia University School of Law, this scholarship represents something personal. His practice sits in the heart of one of the most culturally diverse cities in the world, and over the years he’s come to understand that meaningful community investment goes beyond the work he does in the courtroom. “These aren’t just potential, or past, clients,” Paul explains. “They’re my neighbors, and a great deal of my neighbors experience the common barrier of English as a second language. I know how important it is to overcome this barrier, and it is my desire to alleviate this burden where I can.”

That perspective drives the creation of this need-based scholarship, which will provide direct financial support to New York City residents enrolled in the CLP. Each semester, two students will receive full coverage of their tuition and books, valued at $500, while two additional students will receive $250 to offset half of their program costs.

The Community Language Program holds a unique place within Teachers College. It offers English instruction to adult learners from diverse backgrounds across New York City while simultaneously providing graduate students in the MA TESOL program with essential hands-on teaching experience. Beyond the classroom, the CLP serves as a research laboratory and training ground for future language educators learning curriculum design, program administration, and assessment.

By supporting students in this program, Koenigsberg & Associates hopes to remove one more barrier for New Yorkers working to build new skills, new connections, and new futures in their adopted home.
